Job Description

The Parent Advisory Coordinator is an essential role that coordinates programs involving parent volunteers as advisors in various hospital projects and improvement initiatives. We're seeking an energetic and passionate coordinator to help bring parent and caregiver perspectives richly into the organization to inform improvement and support the philosophy and application of Patient- and Family-Centered Care.

As a coordinator, you'll be responsible for recruiting, training and supporting a diverse group of parents/caregivers, from all walks of life, whose children have been in our care for different reasons. It is essential that your compassion, understanding and enthusiasm for the children, their families, and our mission shines through in everything you do.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Provides coordination for the hospital’s Parent Advisory Councils, Family Action Collaborative Teams, and other committees that bring parent perspectives deeply into specific departments or the organization as a whole.

* Develops and promotes (externally and internally) various parent involvement options, ranging from substantial and long-standing positions on PAC and hospital committees to lower-effort, electronic, and/or shorter-duration options.

* Recruits, trains, and supports parent advisors for the duration of their engagement with the program.

* Coordinates the parent mentor program.

* Other duties as required.

Required Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent

* Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software

Preferred Qualifications

* 0-2 years of relevant experience

* Experience with children's healthcare

* Experience in healthcare

* Bachelor's degree
