EOIR Technologies, a Polaris Alpha company, is seeking an experienced software developer to assume diverse software responsibilities on multiple concurrent projects. Work spans the roles of software engineer to software developer to assist in software selection, reuse, cross platform functionality and high maintainability; perform as an Android, Java, and Java Web Services developer; Technology and software integrator supporting the customer. Work closely with customers and PM. Perform as a key technical team member and mentor technical team. Majority of work (90%) will be performed on site with the customer with some (10%) requiring traveling. Strong written and verbal communications skills are a must.

Software engineering role works in a team collaboration environment. Assists in technical assessment of software needs as they apply to specific domain problems. Support for assessments looks at cross platform support, mobile platforms, virtual machines and significant software reuse.

Developer role requires familiarity with the fundamentals of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), and restful web services. Work with customers to define software API's and web services interface. Implement web services compliant with standards and integrate with DBMS. Regularly present engineering and development decisions to customer and development team. Experience handling large data objects in a Service Oriented Architecture.

Technology assessment role will assess, document and report on usability of software on mobile (phone, tablet) and server-based platforms.

Software Integrator role has responsibility for integration of COTS and GOTS products. Ability to install and configure products on various hardware (Linux, Windows, Virtual server) platforms. Experience implementing and configuring open source solutions is very useful. Ability to work well with remote stakeholders and implementers.

Required Skills

Must have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in software development and software engineering for software projects.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, Java, J2EE, Restful Web services, open source / DI2E, data objects and models

Preferred but not required:

Virtual Machine experience, Android, Linux, development/integration work with Army tactical systems.


Bachelors degree in a technical discipline or 4 years of additional targeted experience can be substituted

This position requires the selected candidate to hold an active Department of Defense Secret level security clearance which requires US citizenship while working in support of a government contract.
