JOB SUMMARY:

Assists the Director of Maintenance as the Associate Director in the management & oversight of all Residential & Dining Facilities. Directly manages Structural & Zone Supervisors in daily operations, in accordance with the general vision & plans laid out by the Director. Responds to emergencies & coordinates responsive steps. Assists with budgeting, projects, training & other duties as needed.
JOB DUTIES:

30% - Essential - Personnel Management:
Responsible for the direct management of the Structural and Zone Supervisors. Plans, organizes and oversees the work of supervisors and trades craftsmen. Works independently under minimal supervision using sound fiscal and managerial judgment. Uses effective interpersonal and communication skills. Uses a strong understanding of how to prioritize and balance workloads. Provides and/or evaluates the need for additional training for supervisors and craftsmen. Helps Director ensure the procurement, permitting and Master Planning process is followed within the department.

30% - Essential - Residential and Dining Facilities Management:
Assists with direction and coordinated activities for all Residential Facilities and Dining Halls (including ATM's and Vending machines). Manages projects and routinely inspects facilities to identify new projects as needed. Assists Director, during normal shift and after hours, with emergency management response and coordination to floods, fire or other emergency situations that may arise. Assists in planning and estimating materials and labor.

15% - Essential - Project Management:
Coordinates and manages projects in association with current year's work plan. Assists in planning and estimating materials and labor. Review building plans and blueprints to assist on renovation and construction projects. Assists with execution of small and capital construction projects. Provides contractor oversight by coordinating and scheduling tasks related to projects.

15% - Essential - Financial Management:
Assists Director with the development and execution of the departmental budget. Ensures departmental compliance of procurement and permitting processes. Assists with development and execution of 5+ year project plan. Has the ability to compile and analyze data, create reports and present findings in a professional manner.

10% - Essential - Employee Performance & Evaluation Management:
Assists with employee evaluation and planning stages for Zone and Structural Supervisors and trades craftsmen. Monitors employee time stamps and ensures compliance with work schedules. Assists with the selection and evaluation of potential employees. Sets schedules, keeps records and prepares other reports as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education - Bachelor's Degree - A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience.

Work Experience: 2+ years of supervisory experience.

Licenses - Drivers License Class D normal

Provides Budget Input - Provides input into the budgeting process, and oversees fund allocation.

Standard Hours: 37.5; Band: 06 ($ 39,960.00 - $64,000.00)
