Job Description


SUPERVISES: Functional supervision is exercised over clerical/technical support staff.

SUMMARY: Under general supervision implement the department business plan for assigned training and consulting services within the community. Work is diversified requiring problem solving, time management, analysis, and decision making in compliance with College policies and procedures.



1. Prospect, establish and maintain professional relationships with existing and potential clients that could benefit from CTC services. Assess their occupational training needs and factors impacting business performance.
2. Manage and develop client communication and agreements including contract proposals, service agreements and services delivery and evaluation. Ensure that all communications are consistent and comply with State statutes, Wisconsin Technical College System requirements and other college policies and procedures.
3. Maintain detailed client records and assist in tracking business performance and achieving yearly sales metrics.
4. Participate in and recommend marketing initiatives to promote assigned services to clients.
5. Assist with developing prices, forecasts and budget of assigned services. Monitor and control related expenses.
6. Identify new and enhance existing partnerships and grant funding opportunities.
7. Develop and provide reports and analysis to meet funding source and department requirements and determine effectiveness of services.
8. Recommend College services which best meet their identified needs.
9. Serve on approved College, community and statewide committees and boards.
10. Other duties as assigned.



Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:
1. Knowledge of sales and marketing principles and techniques and the ability to practice a problem solving approach in marketing educational services.
2. Ability to communicate effectively including one-on-one oral communications, public speaking and professional written communications.
3. Basic understanding of budgets and program budgeting process.
4. Familiarity with the Waukesha/Milwaukee business community as consumers of educational services.
5. Knowledge of learning/instructional processes.
6. Knowledge of the applications of vocational/technical training is desirable.



The Account Manager supports the Corporate Training Center and is available on or before April 15, 2018.

Position Information 
This is a full- time, 12 month per calendar year position. Hours will be Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Salary is listed at the 2017-18 rates.

Education and Experience Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Two years minimum experience in business development, technical or commercial sales, business account management, or related professional experience.
3. Two years of experience in an instructional related position preferred.
