Production OperationsOverviewPOSITION PURPOSE
The Warehouse Operator I is responsible for janitorial duties, maintaining good housekeeping standards throughout assigned warehouse areas per the sanitation schedule, completing assigned paperwork, restacking pallets and hand stacking trailers, and assisting Warehouse Supervisors and Team Leads with the inspection/verification of incoming and outbound shipments, raw materials and finished goods.

The position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor. No employees report to the position.
The Warehouse Operator I is an entry level position that is responsible for the safe operation of the associated equipment, janitorial duties, the quality of incoming raw materials and outgoing products in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safe work practices. This position is also responsible for maintaining 5S standards, and participating in and implementing continuous improvement.
The Warehouse Operator I is responsible for communicating effectively in relaying information to team members, team leads, supervisors, and managers, as applicable.
The incumbent will perform at a basic level the aspects of warehouse operations including, shipping and receiving (unloading and loading trucks), warehouse sanitation, reviewing and ensuring accuracy of shipping/receiving documentation, including BOL, COA, and other Shipping/Receiving documentation.
This position is responsible and accountable to ensure product meets food safety and quality requirements by following the Food Safety Plan, Quality Plan and company policies.
On-the-job training may be provided to the incumbent to learn additional skills in order to support other Warehouse Operators such as learning drive thru racking, push back racking, static racking, filling orders, utilizing the first-in/first-out (FIFO) method, and operating in warehouse/production staging areas of the plant.QualificationsREQUIREMENTSKnowledge and Skills
A minimum of 18 years old; ability to speak, read and write the English language; ability to evaluate and identify mechanical conditions and make adjustments or corrective action as necessary; ability to access elevated work areas such as climbing ladders/stairs; basic math skills to be able to perform mathematical functions; warehouse operating guidelines; accurately track inventory; ability to understand and apply standard operating procedures; ability to wear required personal protective equipment and comply with all applicable safety practices; ability to maintain a clean work area according to good manufacturing processes; good communication skills to communicate with co-workers and oncoming/outgoing shifts; ability to work overtime and holidays when scheduled or required.
Ability to learn and safely drive warehouse equipment including floor scrubbers and stand-up fork lifts.
Ability to lift heavy weights of up to 60 lbs. when restacking pallets or hand stacking trailers. The position holder is also required to stand/walk throughout the shift and must have the ability to work in hot, humid, and cold areas.
Ability to read/write and perform basic arithmetic in order to understand the S.O.P.'s, Good Manufacturing Practices, and safe work practices.
Ability to work in high noise areas, in a 28-degree Fahrenheit cooler and with hazardous chemicals.Education and Experience
- Experience with data entry, email, internet, and Microsoft Word and Excel Software.
- General knowledge of material handling equipment is preferred.
- General knowledge of palletizing, and packaging equipment is preferred.

- Experience with SAP or a similar inventory system, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) (such as hand held bar code scanner, cycle counting, directed put away) is preferred.
