SIU School of Medicine is seeking an individual to provide cancer and social epidemiology insight and innovation to advance the mission and goals of the Office of Population Science and Policy and the Simmons Cancer Institute (SCI) at SIU. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in social epidemiological and health services research design and analysis. The position requires expertise in population-based research methods with the goal of elucidating rural cancer disparities in central and southern Illinois, the Mississippi Delta Region, and throughout the United States.

Minimum requirements include Ph.D. and/or post-doctoral training in epidemiology, or health services research. Demonstrated emphasis and expertise in cancer epidemiology research or closely complementary field; evidence of research capabilities demonstrated by publications in peer-reviewed specialty journals; excellent verbal and written communication skills; sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations.
