Clinical Trials Research Assistant/Data Manager

Position Available


The Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center (HCCC), a NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Iowa, is seeking a Clinical Trials Research Assistant to serve as a member of the Clinical Research Services team and assist in the operations of the ORIEN project and implementation of the Unified Bio-repository Consent (UBC) for the University of Iowa Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center. Coordinates activities related to the consenting of patients to the UBC and collection, processing and storage of bio-specimens as needed. Maintains accurate data in multiple databases with UBC consented patients.

Clinical Research


$37313.00 to Commensurate



  1. Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  2. Six months experience interviewing, interacting and consenting patients
  3. Experience with medical terminology.
  4. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  5. Proficient in computer software applications.
  6. Ability to manage complex information with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.                                                                                                                                                    HIGHLY DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Relevant experience in the conduct of clinical and/or laboratory research studies.
  2. Knowledge of regulatory guidelines and procedures


  1.  Knowledge of University of Iowa policies, procedures and regulations.
