As a Project Engineer, ideally this person would be at the beginning stages of their career and, at the onset, this person would be heavily involved in mostly document retrieval and organization on our large claims issues. Through the process of understanding the issues that make it to a claim and through training/mentoring from the field and Project Controls/Claims department, this person will be able to supplement their core competencies with another (engineering) perspective.


Initial Roles and Responsibilities
  • Assist Claims department with locating and organizing documentation related to the specific issues (at a job-site if necessary)
  • From a set of documents
    • Sort an organize by type
    • Go through documents looking for key-words related to the issue and compile a report (parse the document pool)
    • Upload parsed set of documents to our document storage solution
  • Once familiar with the specifics of a claim or claim issue, follow up with claims team to identify and collect missing items (daily reports, letters, emails, inspection reports, etc.)

Fully Trained Implemented Roles and Responsibilities
  • Work with the team to compile reports, narratives and/or presentations
  • Work with the team to be able to give presentations to non-engineering or non-project involved stakeholders to a claim (attorneys, Owners, etc.)

  • Bachelor's Degree in a one of the following fields:
    • Political Science (Pre-Law)
    • English (Composition and/or Rhetoric)
    • Communications
    • Technical Writing
    • Psychology/Sociology
  • Ability to use the following Microsoft Products:
    • Word
    • Excel
    • Outlook
  • Fully fluent and proficient in English oral communications, reading and writing
  • Strong organizational and logic skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills/affable
  • Ability to proof-read and/or compile reports
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to learn new skills
  • Ability to travel across the United States and Canada if necessary
