As a Construction Manager, you will plan, direct, and coordinate on-site construction activities on construction projects to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors; typically assigned to smaller scale projects.

  • Manage key field staff responsible for and project construction
  • Directs and coordinates activities of field personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget
  • Ability to analyze & interpret job cost reports for decisions on crew sizes, equipment needs, & schedule matters
  • Monitor construction schedule, cost and quality to ensure project goals are met
  • Reviews status reports prepared by project management and modifies schedules or plans as required
  • Obtain and utilize the most skilled and appropriate workers for each task
  • Prepare a workable schedule to achieve project goals
  • Coordinate multi-phases and tasks of construction
  • Provide support to Project Manager/Principal-on-site
  • Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project
  • Prepares project reports for management, client, or others
  • Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems
  • Coordinates project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies
  • Set productive, consistent, and acceptable work example
  • Provide positive safety leadership to the project
  • Conduct performance reviews with subordinates
  • Understanding of QA-QC program & commitment to implementing into the work items
  • Point of contact for construction related topics with Owners Rep, Subcontractors & Suppliers
  • Assists Project Manager on meetings with Owners rep, Subs & Suppliers
  • Assists Project Manager on negotiating terms & conditions, costs, & schedule matters with Owners rep, Subs & suppliers
  • Knowledge and understanding of local union or prevailing wage rules
  • Ensures workers for each task are fully qualified to perform assigned duties
  • Maintains knowledge of Flatiron's company values and strategic plan
  • Support published corporate policies
  • Perform additional assignments per management's direction

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited institution and 13 years related experience and/or training in the construction industry
