Position Purpose

The Advancement Services Specialist will report to the Executive Assistant to the Vice President, but perform work for the Foundation Account and Directors of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving. This individual must have the ability to think and plan strategically; must possess excellent written, interpersonal and oral communication skills; a commitment to ethical fundraising; collegiality and teamwork; and be willing to sometimes work outside normal University business hours on evenings and weekends as required due to deadlines and special events. They must have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.

Other Education & Formal Training

Bachelor's degree in communication, education, business, marketing, English, political science or related field required.

Master's degree preferred.

Computer Skills
Word-Processing, Spreadsheet, Presentation, Web Page Maintenance


One (1) year of experience in accounting, knowledge of basic accounting principles.

Two (2) year experience in constituent relations, event planning, program management or related field along with a background of strong written and oral skills required.

Two (2) years previous experience in development, donor relations, alumni relations, or a comparable or related field preferred.

Non-profit organization administration experience preferred.

Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State/Federal Requirements of Position:
Criminal History check, Driver's license
