Position Summary

Position Summary

Define, analyze, diagnose, evaluate, and categorize information technology problems involving multiple and complex factors in support of the operations of the service management system; define requirements for installing, improving and replacing systems; evaluate existing systems; provide systems analysis, technical advice and support to users. Present systems design recommendations to department; develop testing and conversion plans; administer installation of programs in production stage; and maintain strategic relationships with vendors, consultants and NYU IT team members to ensure uninterrupted service and optimum level of systems operation. Design, maintain, and execute queries, customized reports and data files. Conduct periodic checks to ensure accuracy and integrity of data.


Required Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience

3+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination, with systems applications, analysis, integrated systems and providing user support service and technical support; use of troubleshooting techniques to resolve complex problems; managing computer based incident management systems; provide formal IT training sessions to non-technical users.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Excellent analytical, problem solving skills and know of service management tools. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical audience.

Preferred Education

Master's degree

Preferred Experience

High-level technical support experience in an academic environment, a University or educational institution.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification. Experience with service management tools.
