Join our team as a Project Engineer, this position is 40 hours a week M-F, and would work out of our Plymouth, MN location. You will influence designs that have a positive impact on society from removing contaminates from drinking water to cleaning water for industrial process or discharge to environment. You will support the Engineering Team by preparing project documentation related to process and equipment design to support the project team. We require you to act as a technical expert for internal and external customers on engineering related items.


  • Provides process review including water chemistry, hydraulic and instrumentation perspective for system troubleshooting support, customer communication, and corrective action then provides engineering guidance to project team
  • Selects/sizes main system components such as mechanical gear drives, pumps, valves and meters
  • Provides engineering calculations as required and peer reviews others calculations
  • Review sales proposals, estimates, quotes, customer plans and specifications to establish project requirements and supports the project design process
  • Reviews and approves Process and Instrumentation Diagrams depicting process design assuring that the design will provide required results
  • Reviews and approves General Arrangement Drawings depicting equipment design assuring that the design will provide required results
  • Ensure manufactured equipment conforms to project requirements
  • Assist Purchasing with the qualification process for new suppliers to expand US Water's equipment capabilities
  • Lead development projects of new standard product offerings


Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of water treatment experience or industrial equipment experience
  • Bachelors in Mechanical or Civil Engineering preferred or must have technical aptitude and equivalent experience
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and ability to lead design focused teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to attain registration
