SomaLogic is a privately-owned biomedical science company that developed a revolutionary proteomics technology capable of measuring thousands of different human proteins in a single small sample. We are now moving towards commercializing the health-related information derived from that technology to help people worldwide proactively manage their health for life. As a part of our commercialization effort, we are seeking additional expertise to join our dedicated team of scientists, bioinformaticians, statisticians, and software developers to help us realize that vision.

We are seeking a highly-motivated software developer with a specialization in front-end development to help in the development of cloud-based applications. You are able to work within small agile teams that require heavy communication and coordination to deliver high quality software within a high freedom, high responsibility culture. You have a clear understanding of distributed systems and related patterns. You are able to implement solutions to complex problems with little to no direction. Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to building complex software system platform using microservices and cloud/web technologies
  • Develop intuitive user interfaces for internal and external facing applications
  • Design and develop client-side responsive web applications
  • Coordinate with engineers and stakeholders within an Agile environment

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field; or equivalent work experience

Skills and experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of development experience required
  • Previous experience working in a collaborative team environment
  • Experience with and deep knowledge of common software design patterns including those used in distributed systems
  • Experience using security technologies such as OAuth2 or SAML
  • Experience with Angular 2, Bootstrap, HTML/5 and CSS3
  • Highly skilled in Java & JavaScript
  • Working understanding of PaaS technologies such as Mesosphere or Kubernetes preferred
  • Familiarity with and use of reactive programming desired
  • Experience in medical device software development, Biochemistry or related scientific field is a big plus

Work Environment:

We are a fun and passionate team from diverse backgrounds with an informal office work environment. Our work environment favors the curious with frequent company seminars covering all parts of the business, technical elements of our technology and scientific applications of our technology. The SomaLogic campus consists of several buildings adjacent to each other with occasional meetings spread over the campus. This position involves extended time at a computer and frequent informal meetings and discussions with other developers.
