Job Summary

As a working supervisor, performs variety of culinary (cooking) duties in production oriented, scratch kitchen. Oversees food production in accordance with company policy and ingredient standards. Cooks food for the Market Kitchen and catering events following the recipes and pre-determined quantities. Follows proper sanitation procedures and temperature controls to comply with health code regulations.


  • Complies with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies and procedures.
  • Maintains high standards of sanitation, product quality, product mix and overall safety.
  • Follows recipes and adheres to Mustard Seed Market ingredient standards.
  • Ensures department is well-stocked and merchandised.
  • Develops new recipes in accordance with guidelines.
  • Assists with off premise catering.
  • Assists with training Market Kitchen staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education And Experience

High school education or equivalent
Culinary Arts Degree, natural/organic foods experience desirable
Supervisory experience preferred
